NSX Study LAB

Since I started my ICT career from a Networking background, I was very interested on VMWare NSX from its GA.

I started studying for the VCAP6-NV (3V0-643) by referring to some excellent blogs written by various authors. Being a hands-on Engineer, from the beginning I was itching to implement the blueprint items in my own lab, rather than testing them on HOL, which to me felt very restricted.

Therefore, I built a home-lab on a custom-made Desktop PC (Which I will explain on a separate post).

Since the blueprint content is very heavy, I wanted to build a logical lab which include all the items for me to test them at one go.

Below diagram is the logical lab, which I created to test the blueprint items. I will post expected configurations on each ESG separately.

This lab covers all the items, apart from Cross VC and ECMP. I excluded them due to the resource unavailability in my home lab. I tested them on a separate lab, which I will post on another post.

Please use the lab as a reference, and customize for your specific environment. You can refer below excellent blog by Clinton Prentice and the Video blog by Iwan Hoogendoorn, to learn each feature of NSX in-depth.

Cheers!
